Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of community residents?
Are you ready to work collaboratively with local officials and community
stakeholders? If you answered yes, the Board of Directors of the Chadron
Public Library in Chadron, Nebraska, is currently recruiting candidates
for the position of Library Director. 
Located in beautiful northwest Nebraska, Chadron is south of the Black
Hills and west of the Nebraska Sandhills, in the Pine Ridge region. The
area is noted for its Old West history, outdoor recreational
opportunities and unique natural beauty.
The Chadron Public Library serves a diverse community of 5,800 in the
Northwest corner of the state. The Library Director is a visible member
of the community and is Library*s representative to the city, county,
community, and the Library Board*which sets library policies. 
The Library Director is responsible for all library operations and
supervision of personnel, budget, programming and service to the public.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of current technology and
possess supervisory, communication, organizational, decision-making and
public relations skills.    
A Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited institution
is preferred, but is not required. 
Experience 
Qualifications for the position are a Masters Degree from an ALA
accredited institution or a combination of education and experience
which is the equivalent of a graduate degree as evaluated by the Library
Board of Directors. 
Salary Information 
Salary is based on education and experience. Additional benefits
include retirement plan, health insurance, vacation and sick leave.
