***please forward widely!***

October is already a packed month for conferences, what with WLA the first
weekend and Internet Librarian the third week, but there's one more to add
to the mix--only it's really an unconference.

Library Camp of the West will be held at the University of Denver on Friday,
October 10th. The idea of an unconference is to create a time and space for
conversations--the kind of conversations that often get started at regular
conferences but that get interrupted because there's another session to
attend. Instead of creating a schedule of presentations and keynotes in
advance, we (that includes you) will create a loose plan for the conference
on the wiki (http://librarycampwest.pbwiki.com) ahead of time. On the
morning of the conference, we'll set the day's schedule and break out into
small groups over several session based on what attendees want to talk
about.

We're inviting people from all over to gather in Denver to have
conversations about libraries, and we hope you can join us! Unconferences
work when everyone participates. Come with ideas, notes, examples, visual
aides, puppets, whatever.

Learn more, sign up, and contribute your ideas at
http://librarycampwest.pbwiki.org.

Library Camp is free, but attendance will probably be capped at 100-150
people due to space limitations, so act soon!
