The second College of DuPage Soaring to Excellence teleconference of the season is scheduled for Friday, February 8th.

People Watching With a Purpose: Meeting Needs Before They Need It
speakers: Ann Bishop & Nancy Kranich
Friday, February 8th, 10:00 - 11:30 am

This program looks at the outdated practice of creating services for patrons assuming these meet community needs. Libraries need to revise their roles and work in partnership with community members in building meaningful experiences. Discussion will include taking an "asset-based" grassroots view using a "community informatics" model toward library services. For more information and to view program materials go to: http://www.dupagepress.com/COD/index.php?id=1644

The Wyoming State Library and BCR have once again joined to purchase a statewide license for the COD teleconference series. All Wyoming libraries and librarians can register to have access to these programs at no cost. Libraries may downlink the satellite coordinates for on-site viewing or staff may view the teleconferences via webcast from any location having adequate Internet access.

Please register for these programs through BCR. Details are at http://www.bcr.org/training/teleconferences/register.html

Let me know if you have any questions!
