Description:
In the ever-changing digital landscape, navigating copyright law as a
librarian has the potential of becoming a hazardous endeavor. This
one-day workshop will cover the basic issues of copyright as they
pertain to the library environment. The day will include break-out
sessions to allow for interaction with your peers in real world
scenarios. 

Some of the issues to be discussed:

*	History of copyright 
*	Fair use 
*	Digital Millennium Copyright Act 
*	First Sale and copyright exemptions 
*	Applications to interlibrary loan and reserves 

Who Should Attend?
Librarians with an interest in copyright who desire to assure workflows
meet compliance standards.

Time:
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Lunch on your own.)

Fee:

Description:
Widely available digital media present educators with new opportunities
and challenges, particularly when it comes to the area of copyright.
This workshop will help teachers and media specialists traverse the
murky waters of downloadable media, copyright law, fair use parameters,
and the TEACH Act. The session will include break-out sessions to
interact with your peers in real world scenarios as well as the
opportunity to draft usage guidelines for your classroom, school, or
district. 

Who Should Attend? 
School media specialists and teachers who are interested in a clearer
understanding of copyright in a school environment.
