[WLA-All] Legislative Committee updates

Good morning.  

The Legislative Committee of WLA is continuing the effort to bring a 
Library Endowment bill before the 2008 legislators.  The process began 
in earnest this summer.  Senator Hank Coe of Park County has agreed to 
be the prime sponsor of the bill and the pieces are coming together.  
Communication with the WLA membership plays a very important part in 
this process and that is the purpose of this message.  Several pertinent 
documents related to the endowment are available to you now.  A 
PowerPoint program outlining the endowment and a brochure handout have 
been mounted on the following website:

Lobbying and endowment information will be included in WLA Conference 
registration packets

The Legislative Committee is hosting a program at Conference on 
Grassroots Lobbying for public and academic libraries and library 
foundations

U.S. Senator John Barrasso will be the featured speaker at the 
Legislative Luncheon on Thursday September 13.

Legislative Committee members will be glad to answer any questions you
