Visit the New Library Science Publications at the Wyoming State Library webpage, http://will.state.wy.us/ldo/newpubs.html, to view an annotated list of new items added to the State Library's Professional Collection. (Click on the title of each item to put it on hold or to order it through Interlibrary Loan).

This month's additions include:

Blogging and RSS: A librarian's guide.
Sauers showcases interesting and useful blogs, shares insights from librarian bloggers, and offers step-by-step instructions for creating, publishing, and syndicating a blog using free Web-based services, software, RSS feeds, and aggregators.

Crash course in storytelling.
This basic guide by experienced storytellers provides all that is needed to encourage any novice storyteller to take the plunge. Lists of "never-fail" stories and simple techniques for managing an audience go a long way to dissolve the angst.

Creating a comprehensive information literacy plan: A how-to-do-it manual and CD-ROM for librarians.
This step-by-step guide is designed to show academic library managers, instructors, and staff how to create a synthesized information literacy plan.

Licensing in libraries: Practical and ethical aspects.
Experienced professionals present state-of-the-art information on licensing issues, including interlibrary loan contract management, end-user education, pricing models for electronic materials, copyright, etc.

Serials in libraries: Issues and practices.
Author Steve Black covers such traditional aspects of serials management as acquisition, evaluation, and authority control. He uses these and other functions to highlight changes in scholarly communication and, by extension, how these changes necessitate improvements in practice.
