Hopping into Library 2.0: Experiencing Lifelong Learning (Australia Librarians)
Yarra Plenty Regional Library in Melbourne Australia enthusiastically took up the fabulous PLCMC 23 Things program in October, and our staff has engaged with alacrity and creativity. We know that libraries have to change, and we are opening up possibilities for our staff and our users. We will talk about why we decided to implement Learning 2.0, how our staff experienced it, and how this has equipped us to get bold in our thinking about social networking. We'll discuss the 4 themes for our Library worker 2.0 staff development program in 2007 - getting information, enabling learning, creating content and celebrating culture; and how we are encouraging an environment of lifelong learning within the organization.

I Bog, You Blog, Weblog (Michael Sauers)
Blogs are the newest way to not only receive information, but also to publish the information you have. More than just an online journal, blog-based publishing might be the best way for you to present your library's information to the public. This one-hour presentation will introduce you to several important examples of library blogs and show you how you or your library can, in less than five minutes, start a blog for free without knowing any computer code.

RSS: The Power of Aggregation (Michael Sauers)
You're a blog reader and maybe even a blog publisher, so what's the next step? RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is that next step. As a user you can use an RSS aggregator to read all those blogs in one central location. As a blog publisher, adding an RSS feed makes it easier for your readers to receive your information. This one-hour presentation will give you a basic overview of what RSS is, how you can use it to receive information and how you can both publish and republish information for your patrons.

Next Gen Librarianship: Where Do We Go from Here? (Rachel Singer Gordon)
oday's multigenerational library workforce faces a number of both internal and external challenges. To meet these challenges, we need to learn how to work together effectively, keep connected and current, and draw on individuals' unique strengths. In a graying profession, we also need to pay attention to succession planning, passing on institutional wisdom, and recruiting, retaining, and mentoring the next generation.
